Tree F0r A Tree Initiative

We are looking to turn a sad situation into a happy one, with our tree for a tree initiative!

For every Ash Tree we remove in 2020, we will be planting you a baby tree
sapling (6 to 12 inches high) in its place. Choose from our 5 Wisconsin Native Trees to plant. Each baby tree comes with some of our compost mix to ensure a strong start.

We offer to plant these trees for you at a predetermined date or you can do it as a family activity yourselves, the choice is yours. Either way, we leave you with this preparation packet, which includes watering guidelines, flag(s) to mark your preferred planting spot(s) and some other Plant Health Care flyers to help with caring for your trees. Lastly, we offer a protection kit ($10) for the defense of your new baby tree against rabbits and other animals.
If you don’t want the tree(s) you can donate them to our annual Arbor Day Event in your name.

Planting Options:

White Pine

Red Bud

Red Maple

Bur Oak

White Fir

Watering Guidelines & Requirements

Newly planted trees require more frequent watering than established trees and shrubs. They should be watered at planting time and at these intervals after planting: *1.5 gallons per watering.

  • 1-2 weeks after, water daily.
  • 3-12 weeks after, water every 2 to 3 days.
  • After 12 weeks, water once a week.

Planting Instructions

Use your Flag to mark where the tree is to be planted. This spot needs to be marked by the assigned date of October 1st, 2020. If not marked on that date when we show up, you will be skipped in our planting services and your tree will be left behind for you to plant on your own accord.
For further instructions on how to properly plant a tree (no matter their size), go to CapCityTree.com/tree-planting.

We understand that this baby tree is not an immediate benefit to your yard as it will take years to grow and mature… but this is about the future.

We all know that trees are beneficial with helping to soak up flood waters, give us fresh air, a home for animals, provide a source of food (fruits & nuts) in some cases and provide shade to our yards.

The baby trees we are planting now are a long-term investment, something that our kids and their kids will truly benefit from. We are excited to be able to say we are doing our part to help make the future a better place and look forward to having you join us with this vision.
